Sovereignty could make Oklahoma stand out

Create our own currency. Oklahoma money will be made of poker chips from local casinos.

Start a navy. I know we already have some U.S. Navy men and women stationed here in Oklahoma, but they could finally start an Oklahoma fleet. I’ve heard lots of talk about piracy lately, so we probably need some protection against that. Look out, Lake Draper pirates.

Halt the spread of swine flu. So far, we haven’t had a massive outbreak of the dreaded H1N1 "swine” flu — or as I like to call it, "The Imminent Doom Virus of Aught-Nine” — and I think we’d like to continue to keep the number of infections low. If Oklahoma was its own entity, we could construct a wall around the entire state to keep out sick people. And Texans.

More gold medals and fewer Texans? This plan can’t fail.
