JENKS -- A woman was arrested Monday afternoon after crashing into a house and totaling her car, Jenks police officers said.

Elizabeth Virginia Carella, 52, of Jenks is accused of driving through the fence behind a home in the 12000 block of South Sycamore Street and crashing into the residence, which soon became fully engulfed in flames, according to her arrest report. The homeowners rescued Carella from the burning car, the arresting officer wrote.

Police said Carella fled the scene and was found hiding behind some chairs on the porch of a church a few blocks away. She was reportedly carrying a can of dust remover spray that showed signs of “very recent use,” according to the report.
