The state Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Nov. 6 to finalize report cards for every public school in Oklahoma and release them to the public. The letter grades were scheduled to be presented to board members Tuesday but the state Department of Education delayed their release because of numerous problems with calculations.
State schools Superintendent Janet Barresi, speaking at Tuesday’s regular board meeting, said more than 1,100 data verification requests were made by school districts, resulting in fluctuating numbers throughout the review period. One principal in the Oklahoma City school district said he found 41 discrepancies.
Also on Tuesday, Cathryn Franks and Daniel Keating were sworn in as board members.
