Special OKC Central Live Chat 10 a.m. Today

Let’s have some fun today, shall we?
I just completed an overnight stay at the flagship 21C Museum Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, as I prepare to delve into what Oklahoma City can expect when a museum hotel opens in the old Fred Jones Assembly plant. (Disclosure: airfare and lodging were provided by 21C Museum Hotels).

This building has been the dream of many a developer over the years, but the Fred Jones family has been very protective of their legacy. 21C Museum Hotel is indeed a very special outcome. This gem of a building is often overlooked simply because it’s on the west fringe of downtown and not a part of folks’ everyday travels. But it’s an amazing building, first built in 1916 as a Ford Model T assembly plant and then operated for years by pioneering Oklahoma City car man Fred Jones (who was personally acquainted with Henry Ford). The building looks and feels like it was at the forefront of the automotive revolution of the early 20th century.
Imagine what this corner will look like in just a couple of years.

At 10 a.m. today I will be hosting a special, one-hour OKC Central Live Chat with Craig Greenberg, president of 21C Museum Hotels. We will take questions about 21C Museum Hotels, and its future in Oklahoma City. To ensure questions get answered, readers can begin posting at NewsOK starting at 9:30 a.m. Preference will be given to questions relating to the hotel and Louisville.
