Specter switch raises stakes for Franken-Coleman

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A party switch by Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter raises the stakes in Minnesota 's unresolved U.S. Senate race.

Republican Norm Coleman is already asking the Minnesota Supreme Court to overturn his recount loss to Democrat Al Franken . Oral arguments are scheduled for June 1.
