SPENCER — A Spencer man accused of hitting a woman in the head with a baseball bat was charged Tuesday in Oklahoma County District Court with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, court records show.

Devon Bennett, 18, was arrested April 18 at 3816 Dunjee Blvd., after the woman told Oklahoma City police Bennett hit her in the head with a bat, a probable cause affidavit shows.

The woman had a “chicken-egg-sized” knot on her forehead and a half-inch deep cut, police reported. Bennett told officers the woman “shouldn't been on my porch.”
