Spending wisely is in style

/> Stein Mart, Burlington and Ross Dress for Less round out the obvious options for those looking to spend less, but even cheaper finds loom in the city — and some are in the most unexpected places.

I spent a few hours recently checking out Wall’s Bargain Center, Zippdog, the Junior League Remarkable Shop and Name Brand Clothing. You’ll have to check my blog to read about my finds, but let me say one store had an Anne Klein fitted, navy pantsuit for $25. Retail price was probably about $200.

When digging for bargains, keep these suggestions in mind:

→Allow plenty of time. Some of these places have a lot of merchandise to sort through.

→Scour resale and thrift stores. You would be surprised what’s at the Goodwill store.

→Shop often since most stores get new merchandise weekly. Ask sales staff which days new merchandise is put on the floor.
