Often compared to the great voices of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, new artist Leona Lewis released her first album, “Spirit,” on April 8.

Lewis, 23, got her big break in the music industry when she won “The X Factor,” the United Kingdom’s version of American Idol.
Since winning “The X Factor,” Lewis’ career has blossomed.
When you listen to her music, it’s clear why critics rave about her voice and why they compare it to the voices of legendary artists.
Unlike many pop stars today, Lewis has an innate singing talent and an amazing range.
All of the songs on the album are poetic, allowing listeners to get caught up in the music.
Listeners can relate in one way or another to the lyrics on this album.
For example, the hit song “Bleeding Love” talks about experiencing the pain of a broken heart.
“Spirit” is a great album to add to your collection.
