As Oklahoma City prepares for its first ever home game its defense has been bolstered with the addition of Kevin Ellis.
Sporting Kansas City loaned the 22-year old defender to Oklahoma City, the team announced on Monday, giving Energy FC help with a defense that has only allowed five goals in four games this season.
Ellis is a Kansas City native and has been with Sporting KC for all of his professional career. He worked with the academy team as well as the reserve team.
So far in 2014, Ellis has started three games this season for the defending MLS champions and scored a goal in Sporting KC’s 1-0 win over Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal.
Oklahoma City (2-2) is in fifth place and hosts Orlando City SC on Saturday at 7 p.m. on the campus of Bishop McGuinnes high school.
