Former Putnam North girls basketball coach Londaryl Perry has landed on his feet with one of the state’s most established programs.

Perry has been named the girls coach at Millwood.

Millwood athletic director Shannon Hayes told The Oklahoman on Monday that Perry was officially named his replacement atop the Falcons’ girls basketball program, completing a turnaround from an incident that could have soured Perry's career.

“It just shows you that I had a lot of people praying for me,” Perry told The Oklahoman. “It just shows you that God does work things out. Sometimes God puts you in different places to learn lessons. If you learn from it, you can move forward in life. If not, you’ll always walk around with

What do you think of the leaked orange jerseys?

Last week, new NBA alternate jerseys leaked onto the web, with it revealing a Thunder thread that has long simmered among the fanbase as an intriguing possibility.

Steven Adams will not compete with the New Zealand national team this summer

Steven Adams' representatives recently told a New Zealand website that Adams respectfully declined an invite to play with the Tall Blacks in August's Oceania series against Australia.

NASCAR veterans Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace will compete Tuesday night at the Longdale Speedway, which is on Highway 58 in the northwest corner of Blaine County, between Fairview and Canton. Longdale Speedway runs International Motor Car Association series, and Wallace and Schrader are scheduled to compete against local drivers.

And how I know all this is a good story. At least to me.

You can learn a lot by getting in your car and getting out of town. A week ago Friday, I took a road trip to a section of Oklahoma I rarely see but always enjoy. The grandfather of our man Jacob Unruh died, and his funeral was in Cherokee, which is about 20 miles east of Alva.
