Sports bar sign: 'I like my beer how I like my violence...'

Sidewalk signs give the chance to businesses to really grab the attention of potential customers. Using humor and colorful presentations, businesses can really reap the rewards of their creativity, especially if photos of their sign hit the Web and get spread like crazy.

Like these:




All of those signs work because now I want whiskey and bacon.


You know what doesn’t work, though? This sign found outside a Philadelphia bar:


When NBC10 (where the image came from) reached out to the bar to get some info, the man who answered said this:

We didn’t want to offend people, so we took it down. I personally didn’t think it was offensive.

This isn’t the first time that joke’s been used on a sidewalk sign. A simple Google search reveals it’s been done time and time again. But in a city like Philly, where more than 100,000 domestic violence complaints were filed by police in 2012, it's pretty clear that such a sign is in poor taste.

Or anywhere, for that matter.

All of this reminds me of that one time where the Fresh Prince and Carlton crossed the line with Uncle Phil:
