Blevins misses tournament
KWTV-9 sports director Dean Blevins was forced to miss his first postseason basketball game coverage in 25 years as he recovers from a head injury. He fell on the ice and hit his head on a step at his Edmond home during the Jan. 26 ice storm.
Blevins, who said he sleeps 12 to 14 hours a night, said doctors rate him at 70 percent functionality and he won’t be cleared to cover games until he is 100 percent. "It’s a long, slow process,” he said.
Women’s tourney blanketed
Beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, ESPN and its family of networks will televise all 63 games from the NCAA women’s basketball tournament. During the first and second rounds, ESPN and ESPN2 will present 48 games within 12 telecast windows. ESPN Full Court, the pay-per-view package, will offer complete telecasts of all 48 games.
