ESPN quiets Smith
Flamboyant commentator Stephen A. Smith , once a rising star who had his own show called "Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith ,” is leaving ESPN on May 1 when his contract expires.
In a statement, Smith noted it was time to move on. "My desire to venture beyond sports into the world of news, politics and entertainment has grown,” he said.
