Sports media notes: High school football radio broadcasts return

— Cox (channels 3 and 703) will have live coverage of the Tulsa Union-Jenks showdown at 7 p.m. Friday from TU's Chapman Stadium. KJRH-2 sports director Al Jerkens and Rod Thompson will call the game.

Short takes

N.D. Kalu, a former NFL defensive end who played at Rice, will be the analyst for the Savannah State-OSU telecast at 6 p.m. Saturday on Fox College Sports. Kevin Eschenfelder will do the play-by-play, and Erin Bajackson is the sideline reporter.

— The “OU Football Preview Show,” hosted by Al Eschbach and Rick Heath, is back for its fifth season. It airs at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday on the Cox Channel (channels 3 and 703).

— CBS Sports Network has picked up NBA Development League telecasts, including 12 live regular-season games.

— Retired running back LaDainian Tomlinson has joined NFL Network as an analyst on the new “First on the Field” show, 6 to 8 a.m. Sundays. Melissa Stark, Sterling Sharpe and Michael Lombardi also are on the show.

— The NFL Network relives the New York Giants' run to the Super Bowl title in a one-hour special, “America's Game: 2011 New York Giants,” at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

— NBA TV will feature a one-hour special on Reggie Miller, the five-time NBA All-Star and current TNT analyst, at 6 p.m. Tuesday as part of more than 150 hours of weeklong Hall of Fame coverage.
