There will be a new champion in Class 6A. Edmond Santa Fe entered Friday's semifinal game against Tulsa Washington having lost just two games in three seasons. But the Lady Hornets figured out a way to break through, beating the Wolves 72-70 at the Mabee Center.
Behind 33 points from Jaden Hobbs, Alva defeated Dale, 57-47, Friday night at State Fair Arena to advance to the Class 2A girls state championship game Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against unbeaten and No. 1 Northeast.

After watching in horror as Fairview ended last year's Class 2A state championship game with a 10-1 run to win 38-36, the Vikings made sure a repeat performance never happened Friday morning in the semifinal rematch for a 51-35 victory at State Fair Arena.

It was quite a year for parents coaching their children in Oklahoma high school basketball. Of the 14 state championship trophies handed out over the previous two weekends, half of them went to a coach with a child on the team.
