  • Tramel: The Big 12 should look west for two new additions

By BERRY TRAMEL | Updated: Fri, Aug 7, 2015

The Big 12 has to add two schools that bring value to the Big 12 brand. And in the 21st century, most certainly in the Big 12’s case, that means football brand.

  • Tramel: Diminished Big 12 scrambles to regain its status

By BERRY TRAMEL | Published: Sat, Jul 25, 2015

Ten years ago, the college football season ended with Mighty Vince Young standing on the Rose Bowl floor showered by confetti and Mack Brown holding aloft the crystal trophy. Not only the Texas Longhorns ruled the sport, so did the Big 12 Conference. With Texas’ stirring 41-38 victory over...

Not among the cool kids. But the programs trying to step up in class, the programs trying to get a seat at the grown-up...

berry tramel | Updated: Mon, Jul 6, 2015

Why can’t the Big 12 thrive with 10 schools? What would two schools add, especially two imperfect-fit schools, which are the only kind available at the moment? Again, dead-serious question. What would 12 provide that 10 doesn’t?
