For Sterling Shepard, it was all about becoming a Sooner
A video narrated by James Garner shown before Oklahoma football games a few years ago contained a line that Owen Field was the place “where young lads dream of one day wearing the crimson and cream.” For Sterling Shepard, truer words were never spoken. There was never any choice but the University of Oklahoma for the star wide receiver from Heritage Hall.
Cowboys signee Trace Clark comes from family of athletes

Quintaz Struble's signing with Arkansas State brings closure for family of Mandrell Dean
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL — Loyce Dean finally has some much-needed closure. Just days past the five-year anniversary of her son Mandrell's tragic death, Loyce Dean watched her grandson, Quintaz Struble, sign a letter of intent with Arkansas State on Wednesday morning at Heritage Hall. “This day was like a brand new start,” Loyce Dean said. “It was like the dead have come alive. I'm so proud of Quintaz, I don't know what to do.”
Florida cornerback Gary Simon picks the Sooners
St. Petersburg, Fla., cornerback Gary Simon signed with the Oklahoma football team early Wednesday morning. Simon picked OU over Iowa State and Arkansas.
Stillwater WR Jesse Vester signs with Cowboys
Stillwater receiver/return man Jesse Vester won't have to go far when he leaves for college in the fall. Vester signed with Oklahoma State on Wednesday morning.
