How do some OU fans end up sitting with the enemy during the Red River Showdown?

NORMAN — When Drake Schunck left his seat in the Cotton Bowl's north end for something to drink or a bathroom break, he trudged up the steps with his head down.

“Bit of a gauntlet,” Schunck said. “Try to keep the blinders on.”

Best to be low-key in enemy territory. Depending, of course, on how the OU-Texas game is going.

Schunck, a Sooner fan who now lives in Houston, has spent a couple of Red River rivalries in the tiny crimson sections on the Longhorn end of the stadium.

Call it the Cotton Bowl's Jerusalem. A geographic enclave of hearty souls, surrounded by enemies.
