'Spring Sing' festival, concert set for Saturday in Norman

The annual “Spring Sing” festival and concert for children in grades three through seven will be Saturday at Catlett Music Center in Norman.

The Norman Children's Chorus will sponsor the 12th annual “Spring Sing” on Saturday at Catlett Music Center, 500 W Boyd St.

The festival is for children in grades three through seven. Music teachers in Norman, Moore and Noble are invited to bring students who love to sing. The all-day event will feature separate sessions for children and music teachers, rehearsals and a luncheon.

The day will conclude with a public concert at 3:30 p.m. in the Paul F. Sharp Concert Hall at Catlett Music Center. Angela Broeker will serve as guest conductor. She is director of choral activities at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, where she conducts the Chamber Singers and Women's Choir and teaches choral conducting, methodology and choral literature.

Tickets for the concert are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior adults.
