The NBA announced that San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich will be named the NBA Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

Popovich led the Spurs to the best record in the NBA this season (62-20) despite no player on the roster averaging more than 30 minutes per game.

This season, Popovich guided the Spurs to its 15th consecutive season of 50 wins or more. He joins Don Nelson and Pat Riley as the only coaches in NBA history to win the Coach of the Year award three times.
