FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — Office products retailer Staples Inc. said Wednesday that it completed its acquisition of the Runa, an online shopping software company, for an undisclosed sum.

San Mateo, Calif.-based Runa helps online retailers boost sales by personalizing the shopping experience. Staples said Runa's technology will help it better serve its customers with real-time personalized items, offers and delivery estimates.

As part of the deal, Runa's facility in San Mateo will become a Staples lab and increase its staff in the coming months, Staples said.

Staples shares slipped 9 cents to $14.71 in morning trading. Its shares have traded in a 52-week range of $10.94 to $17.30.
