Starplex Cinemas announces free movies for senior citizens at Oklahoma discount locations.
FROM STAFF REPORTS Published: August 6, 2013

Starplex Cinemas will offer free admission to people over the age of 60 on days that The Oklahoman forecasts to be over 100 degrees.

The “Beat the Heat” promotion will run through Aug. 31 at the Crossroads Movies 8 and Northpark Movies 7 locations. A valid ID stating the patron's birthday must be presented in order to receive free admission.

“The ‘Beat the Heat' special was very well received last year, so we're bringing it back for a second year,” said Traci Hoey, director of marketing for Starplex Cinemas. “Movies are a great way to relieve patrons from the recent heat waves in the area.”

The Crossroads Movies 8 and Northpark Movies 7 locations offer low-ticket prices, including $2 general admission and $1 for all shows Tuesday and $1 hot dogs. Summer blockbusters coming to the discount theaters this month include “Man of Steel” and “Iron Man 3.”

Based in Dallas, Starplex Cinemas operates 32 theaters and 326 screens in Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Washington, Indiana, Ohio, California, Connecticut, Nebraska, Kansas, New Jersey and Missouri. For information on showtimes and online ticketing options, visit the Starplex Cinemas website:
