The 2013 Celebrity Waiters Gala on Friday will feature stars including IronE Singleton of “The Walking Dead,” Kevin Dobson of “Knots Landing” and John O'Hurley, known for portraying J. Peterman on “Seinfeld.”
The gala is the 16th annual event, but this is the first year it has expanded to include more than local celebrities, organizers said.
It begins at 6 p.m. at the Farmers Public Market, 311 S Klein Ave.
Funds raised will go to the CARE Center, Oklahoma City's child abuse response evaluation center, where children see counselors and go through forensic interviews with law enforcement investigators. It is set up to provide the possible abuse victims with compassion, love and respect in a safe environment.
Upon arriving Friday night, attendees can buy “Care dollars” and use that currency to “pay” for autographs with the celebrities, for them to perform silly actions and for other stunts.
Other celebrities, who arrived from Los Angeles on Thursday, include Patrika Darbo from “Days of Our Lives,” Camille Winbush of “The Bernie Mac Show” and Paula Trickey of “The O.C.”
