Buzzam, founded by two University of Oklahoma graduates, has developed an application that streams personally selected music, news and other information to devices like iPhones and iPads. The app is expected to debut next week on Apple's App Store, Buzzam Chief Operating Officer Greg Starling said.
“After two years, you can imagine how excited we are,” Starling said. The application allows users to mix content from music playlists and from other applications like Pandora, Spotify and Twitter. The application also has the capability to deliver highly targeted audiences to advertisers, even offering access to users who are driving near a particular business at a certain time, Starling said.
Recent developments in technology have enabled Buzzam to include functionality that is not yet available in popular content streaming applications, he said.
“We have the ability to send you exactly what you want to hear, and nothing that you don't want to hear,” Starling said. For more information, visit the company's website at buzz.am.
Others draw interest
PinLeague, which already has some big-name clients, has developed analytics and other tools designed to help companies engage with users on Pinterest, one of the fastest-growing social media websites, CEO Daniel Maloney said.
Pinterest, where users “pin” photos on boards that represent varied interests, is ripe for marketing in ways that other social media sites like Facebook or Twitter are not, Maloney said.
Links from Pinterest drive users to commerce websites 12 to 14 times more often than Facebook, and about one-third of major brands already have a presence on Pinterest, he said.
