TULSA
Shooting victim discovered
Tulsa police are investigating a homicide after finding the body of a man who had been shot to death.

Police said officers who responded to a shooting call in south Tulsa about 2:30 a.m. Saturday found the man's body.

Witnesses said the shooter left with another man in a dark-colored Nissan Frontier pickup.

The homicide is the 27th of the year in Tulsa.

KELLYVILLE
4-year-old drowns at lake
A 4-year-old girl drowned Saturday in Heyburn Lake in Creek County.

About 2:40 p.m., Banay M. Crisp was swimming in about 2 feet of water near the beach while her mother cooked dinner, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said.

A van pulled between the two, and Banay's mother lost sight of her. The girl was found in 3 to 4 feet of water west of the shoreline, troopers said.

Banay was flown to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where she died.

WOODWARD
Lawmaker plans meetings
U.S. Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Cheyenne, has announced town hall meetings to be held through the district beginning this week. Woodward will be the first of 14 stops.

Lucas will be discussing his view of current events in Washington and will field questions and ask for opinions on legislation currently before Congress.

DUNCAN
Sports safety sessions set
Dr. Michael Bergeron, a national sports and youth health expert, will offer free seminars Aug. 11 and 12 focusing on athletic performance and safety.

Bergeron will speak to the public at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Duncan Regional Hospital Conference Center.

A session set for 11:30 a.m. Aug. 12, also at the hospital conference center, is for coaches, athletic trainers and medical professionals.
