ENID
Jet goes off course at base
A U.S. Air Force training jet with a student and an instructor pilot on board ran off the runway at Vance Air Force Base outside of Enid.

No injuries are reported and the names of the two haven't been released.

Tech. Sgt. Mary Davis, with the 71st Flying Training Wing's public affairs department, said the T-38 Talon went off the runway during takeoff about 4 p.m. Tuesday. She said the jet was being inspected for damage.

The T-38 is a twin-engine, high-altitude supersonic jet trainer.

Man charged in illegal sales
A Delaware County man accused of distributing pills nationwide through an Internet pharmacy has been charged with operating an illegal pharmacy, according to court records.

Norman Edward Enyart Jr., 60, of Grove, was charged this week in Delaware County District Court in Jay. He also faces a charge of endeavoring to distribute controlled dangerous substance.

He is accused of operating an illegal pharmacy known as J.R.'s Smokeshop and Grand Lake Pharmacy. He is also accused of distributing Carisoprodol, a controlled dangerous substance under Oklahoma law, at the pharmacy.

Enyart, who is also known as J.R. Enyart, is free on $46,250 bail.

Teenager dies after house fire
A youth died after a rural Lincoln County house fire Tuesday.

Chris Schweigert, 14, died while being taken to the hospital after the fire broke out about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Schweigert was sleeping at home when the fire broke out, investigators said. His mother, Debbie Schweigert, was also in the home at the time of the fire. Smoke detectors alerted Debbie Schweigert to the fire, said Joanne Sellars, chief of operations at the state fire marshal's office.

Debbie Schweigert escaped the fire and was injured when she got her son out of the burning mobile home through a window, Sellars said. She remains hospitalized.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

TULSA
Police to watch St. Pat's events
St. Patrick's Day revelry in Tulsa this weekend will be done under the watchful eye of Tulsa police officers, with stepped-up patrols scheduled in areas where partygoers might be sampling the traditional green beer.

According to the Tulsa Police Department, 23 DUI-related arrests were made on the three-day St. Patrick's Day weekend a year ago. Monday is St. Patrick's Day.
