State college notebook: Oklahoma City University women topple No. 1 Lubbock Christian

*Former Jacksonville State (Ala.) assistant Brent Fleetwood is coming home to Oklahoma. He was named head golf coach for the men's and women's teams at Southwestern State. Fleetwood, a Duncan native, had been at Jacksonville State since 2008. He played and served as an assistant coach at Northeastern State. Fleetwood inherits a men's team that won the Great American Conference championship last season.

*Oklahoma Baptist football coach Chris Jensen has hired Paul Smith as defensive coordinator. Smith has been an assistant at Ardmore and Norman high schools; those teams' defenses ranked among the best in the state. ... Southern Nazarene wide receiver Sedrick Johnson was named second-team All-American by the National Christian College Athletic Association. The Iowa State transfer led the Crimson Storm receivers with 68 catches for 744 yards and nine touchdowns. SNU linebacker Michael Hicks was an honorable mention selection. ... OBU has switched sites for its swimming and diving dual this weekend against Ouachita Baptist (Ark.). The schools will compete 6 p.m. Friday at Oklahoma City Community College and noon Saturday at OBU in Shawnee. ... Oklahoma Christian men's basketball coach Dan Hays is nine victories shy of 700.
