State College Roundup: Brady Wardlaw leads SNU with 5 TD passes

Southern Nazarene quarterback Brady Wardlaw threw for five touchdowns to lead the Crimson Storm to a 48-20 win over Panhandle State in Bethany on Saturday.

Three of Wardlaw’s touchdown passes went to freshman Phillip Anderson, who finished with four catches for 61 yards. Wardlaw was 17-of-29 passing for the five touchdowns and no interceptions.

Panhandle State quarterback Vincent Gay scored three touchdowns, running for two and throwing for another.

Both schools finished the season 5-5.

NWOSU rolls up 71 on Texas College
Northwestern State scored 55 points in the first half on its way to a 71-20 blasting of Texas College in Alva.

NWOSU running back Nate Guillory ran for 244 yards on just 14 carries and scored six touchdowns — five in the first half.

NWOSU finished the season at 6-4 while Texas College finished 0-10.

A&M Commerce wins LSC North with victory
Texas A&M Commerce scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak in the fourth quarter to push the Lions to a 15-12 win over Southwestern in Weatherford.

The win sealed the Lons Star Conference’s North division title for A&M Commerce.

Quarterback Steve Day led the way offensively for the Bulldogs, throwing for 224 yards on 23-of-38 passing. SWOSU finished 1-10 in Dan Cocannouer’s first season as coach.

Johnson, Pitrucha lead Southeastern
Josh Johnson ran for 114 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns while quarterback Justin Pitrucha threw for 171 more yards as Southeastern Oklahoma State beat East Central 27-26 in Ada.

The Savage Storm finished 7-4 while ECU ended the season 0-11.
