State cross country notebook: Audrey Campbell leads Mount St. Mary to 4A girls team title

In Class 4A, Mount St. Mary won the girls team title with 45 points. St. Mary was led by third-place finisher Audrey Campbell. Campbell recorded a time of 12:25.32. Heritage Hall finished second with 70 points, while Vinita placed third.

In Class 4A, Mount St. Mary won the girls team title with 45 points. St. Mary was led by third-place finisher Audrey Campbell. Campbell recorded a time of 12:25.32. Heritage Hall finished second with 70 points, while Vinita placed third.

ANADARKO BOYS EDGE MOUNT ST. MARY

The Class 4A boys state team title was up for grabs and by far the closest finish of the meet. Anadarko edged Mount St. Mary by a single point with a score of 96. Lincoln Christian placed third with 99 points. Baylor Harvey of Cleveland High School won the individual title.

BALENSEIFEN HELPS DEER CREEK TO TEAM TITLE

Deer Creek snagged both the individual and team titles in Class 5A. Bryce Balenseifen led his team to 36 points, the lowest points total in any class, with a first place time of 16:17:41.

MCKEE PACES METRO CHRISTIAN

Metro Christian won the Class 5A girls team title with 59 points and was led by second place individual medalist Kelsey McKee. Jessica Hembree of Tahlequah won the individual title with a time of 11:48.10.

EDMOND MEMORIAL THIRD IN 6A

In Class 6A, Edmond Memorial failed to win its first cross country state title since 2004. Edmond Memorial finished in third place behind first-place finisher Jenks and second-place finisher Tulsa Kelley.

Stillwater's Noah Gade won the individual title with a time of 15:30.89, by far the best boys time of the meet.

HELMS REPEATS IN 6A

Yukon's Emily Helms repeated as the 6A individual champion with a time of 11:11.29. Jenks won the 6A girls team title with 74 points, just beating out second place Mustang with 77 points.
