State Fair Speedway: Joe Wood Jr.'s success is on display
Every week, there’s quite a few fans in the State Fair Speedway grandstand wearing red shirts with a yellow 71 painted on them.
Each time Joe Wood Jr. is announced before a race, the crimson clad fans cheer. Wood doesn’t know why he’s gained such a following — especially with the ladies — but the sprint car driver said he enjoys knowing people are behind him.
