Oklahoma Christian's golfers will be serious contenders for the Class 3A individual and team championships, but here are some other metro-area golfers to watch in the boys state tournaments Monday and Tuesday:
Taylor Moore, Edmond Memorial: Currently No. 4 in Golf Week's junior rankings, Moore is chasing his third straight individual state title. Only one golfers has won three individual titles in the state's largest class (Bob Dickson, 1960-62).
Max McGreevy, Edmond Santa Fe: A top-10 finisher at state last year, the junior is ready to contend.
Hayden Wood, Edmond North: Any of Edmond North's top five players have the talent to make a run at the individual title, but Wood is coming off a regional championship in hopes of leading the Huskies to their eighth consecutive state crown.
Logan Gray, El Reno: With multiple wins this season, Gray is looking to contend for the title in 5A at the unique and challenging Chickasaw Pointe course.
Trent Mewbourn and Gavin Mastell, Heritage Hall: The Chargers will try to make a run at the team crown in 4A, with Mewborn and Mastell leading the way. Both have been in the hunt at multiple tournaments this season.
Ryan Stults, Luther: Stults has been playing strong down the stretch and could contend for the 2A title.
