There will be a new individual state champion in Class 4A despite last year’s winner being just a freshman.
Zeke Clark, the defending 4A state champion from Riverfield Country Day in Tulsa, chose not to participate in the state high school playoffs.
Clark, a sophomore who is one of the top tennis players in the country, has been competing in national tournaments during the high school season.
Ada is the two-time defending state team champion in Class 4A.
