State testing turns up E. coli in Locust Grove water wells
LOCUST GROVE — About a quarter of the private water wells in the Locust Grove area checked this month tested positive for E. coli, according to Department of Environmental Quality findings released Wednesday.
Seventeen of 74 wells that were tested were found positive for E. coli, department spokeswoman Skylar McElhaney said. Fifty-nine tested positive for total coliform bacteria, she said.
