Oklahoma State sophomore Ibrahima Thomas did not travel to Seattle with the men’s basketball team on Tuesday, an OSU spokesman confirmed Tuesday night. The Cowboys’ starting center’s status with the team is unclear, but several sources indicated that Thomas quit Tuesday morning. On OSU assistant said Thomas, a native of Senegal, is thinking about some family issues back in Africa. The Cowboys play at Washington on Thursday in the Big 12/Pac 10 Hardwood Series. Thomas, a 6-foot-11 post player, has started all seven games for OSU this season. He scored 18 points against Tulsa on Nov. 20, but struggled in OSU’s last three games. The loss comes just as OSU appeared to be gaining depth inside. Seven-footer Teeng Akol, from Sudan, was just declared eligible by the NCAA and started practice on Monday.
