PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers are keeping their options open heading into the NFL draft.
Pittsburgh has the 15th pick of the first round and nine selections overall. General manager Kevin Colbert says there are probably 19 players the Steelers could take in the first round, though he hasn't ruled out moving lower in the draft.
The Steelers have several pressing needs after a second straight 8-8 season, including wide receiver, defensive back and defensive line.
They haven't taken a cornerback in the first round since 1997, but with Ike Taylor aging and William Gay more suited for nickel back, the Steelers could use some help after finishing outside the top 10 in yards allowed for the first time this millennium.
