Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Steely Dan will play a rare Oklahoma City show July 21 at Chesapeake Energy Arena, the venue and DCF Concerts announced today.

The Grammy-winning band, anchored by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, will bring its pop hooks and soulful jazz harmonies to the city for the first time in more than three decades, according to a news release.

The American jazz/rock group is known for its pristine sound quality in both studio recordings and live performances. Becker and Fagen have sold more than 40 million albums worldwide since their debut album, “Can’t Buy a Thrill,” in 1972. Numerous chart-topping hits including “Do It Again”,” “Reelin’ in the Years,” “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number,” “Hey Nineteen” and “Peg” have pleased generations of music fans and aficionados and their live performances of hits and deep tracks are considered must-see by many classic rock fans.

The July 21 concert at Chesapeake Arena will have limited seating availability to create the intimate environment that Steely Dan and their fans desire for the ultimate live music experience, according to the release.

Tickets go on at 10 a.m. Friday, April 11. For tickets and information, go to the Chesapeake Arena Box Office, www.chesapeakearena.com or call (800) 745-3000.
