Ethan Jack, 16, and Jazmine Flynn, 18, both died last week of gunshot wounds.

“There was no warning,” said Mike Hodges, who had been involved in Jack's life since the boy was 2 years old.

He said Flynn was sitting in her vehicle waiting for Jack when he stepped off the school bus at his family's home Thursday afternoon with his younger brother.

“They had recently broken up and Jazmine asked to come over so she could bring some of Ethan's stuff home,” Hodges said.

He said Flynn shot Jack and then pointed the gun at his younger brother and their mother. She then turned the gun on herself and shot herself in the head and chest, he said.
