Are we getting close to a new tower announcement? Within the month?
Based on what I'm hearing from those involved, we should hear something this month. I will add that soil studies and other inquiries are wrapped up.
Do you know what the current status of Core to Shore is?
Most of the land has been acquired for the Core to Shore Park. Negotiations are ongoing for the convention center site. Developers are showing some interest in the properties surrounding the park. But big questions remain as to how to fund operations of the park. A lot of assumptions were made about operational costs with the park and wellness centers. We are now seeing those assumptions were too rosy with the wellness centers. I suspect similar discoveries are ahead with the park.
Is Costco actively looking to put a store in the OKC area?
That's what I keep hearing. Trader Joe's is searching as well.
Which hotel do you think will open first? Aloft, Hilton Garden Inn or Ambassador?
The Hilton Garden Inn may open first, Aloft second, Ambassador third. The Ambassador will be the biggest game changer.
What do you think of Kevin Durant owning a house in Deep Deuce?
I think it sparks even more interest in buying homes on The Hill.
Do you know if the historic society is going to try to save the original Film Exchange Buildings?
I fear the film exchange building is doomed. The city wants a clear site.
What are your thoughts on the Carnegie Building not remodeling any of the outside?
Judy Hatfield has no choice - the project wasn't viable without historic tax credits, and the credits require keeping the original facade intact.
