Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby ruffled some feathers Monday at Big 12 Media Days by saying that "cheating pays" in today's NCAA, and that "enforcement is broken."

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier tends to disagree.

While Bowlsby's comments may look like a reference to the Southeastern Conference, Spurrier says the SEC is doing alright when it comes to doing things the right way.

This comes on the heels of Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher saying Monday the Seminoles didn't punish quarterback Jameis Winston for shoplifting because "it was not done with intent."

Tramel wrote in his column for Tuesday's Oklahoman that it's more than just the SEC on alert:

"It’s easy to write off Bowlsby’s bomb as a shot across the bow at the SEC. Finger-pointing at a league long cast as breaking the rules it didn’t have time to bend. But Bowlsby cut a wide swath. He was talking about the need for a cultural change, in both attitude and resources."
