Stigler schools on lockdown after jail inmate escapes

STIGLER – Stigler Public Schools are on lockdown Tuesday morning after a man escaped from the Haskell County Jail, the school superintendent’s office confirmed.


Edward Branch, 36, escaped from the jail around 1 a.m. Tuesday, jail officials said. The Stigler Public Schools system has about 1,300 students, the superintendent’s office said.
