Officials with Chickasaw Country today announced that red dirt star Stoney LaRue will kick off the 2013 Chickasaw Country Concert Series on July 5. In conjunction with the Lake Texoma Association’s inaugural Thrill-N-Texoma event, LaRue will perform after the annual fireworks show. The concert takes place on the west side of the Roosevelt Bridge across from Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club.
Paige Williams, Director of Tourism for Chickasaw Nation Division of Commerce, said in a news release the festival and concert really capture the vision of Chickasaw Country.
“Outdoor concerts and festivals are the ideal celebration of summer,” Williams said in the release. “Partnering with Lake Texoma Association brings both organizations together to offer a great event to local residents and lake visitors. It also further solidifies Chickasaw Country as an integral part of the state’s tourism roadmap.”
Thrill-N-Texoma is a free event and includes kids’ activities, local merchants, boat and ATV displays, and food and drink vendors. Festival-goers who wish to attend the concert must purchase a ticket to the show.
Concert tickets are $33 each and are available for purchase at Texoma Gaming Center, Madill Gaming Center and online at chickasawcountry.com. If any tickets remain, they will be available for purchase the day of the show at the gate.
Parking for Thrill-N-Texoma will be available throughout the area. Paid parking will be available on-site. Free parking will be available at Kingston High School’s Multipurpose Activity Center, with free shuttle service to and from the event.
