Storm knocks out power to nearly 44K in NJ

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Nearly 44,000 homes and businesses in New Jersey are still without electricity because of an icy storm that's caused power lines and tree limbs to snap.

The state's largest utility, PSE&G, is reporting 35,490 customers are without service, mostly in Mercer County.

JCP&L has 8,286, mainly in Middlesex County.

Atlantic City Electric is reporting 260 customers without service. Many of them are in Atlantic County.
