Pleasant weather to return after storms move out of Oklahoma

A high temperature near 78 degrees is in the Friday forecast for central Oklahoma. Cool temperatures will continue the rest of the week.

Cool, pleasant days are ahead after storms moved out of Oklahoma.

The high temperature Friday in central Oklahoma will be near 78 degrees. There is a slight chance of showers.

As of 6 p.m. Thursday there were still more than 1,600 Oklahoma Gas and Electric. Co. customers with no power from the Tuesday night and Wednesday morning storms in central Oklahoma.

Cleanup of trees, downed power lines and other structure damage also continued across the Oklahoma City area.

The forecast

The National Weather Service forecast for central Oklahoma is as follows:

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 78. East, northeast wind 5 to 11 mph.

Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy with a low around 61. East, northeast wind between 7 and 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny with a high near 84. Northeast wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming southeast.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with a low around 68.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 88.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 70.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 91.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 68.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 90.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy with a low around 68.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 88.
