Thunderstorms that drenched western parts of the state all evening began making their way into the Oklahoma City metro area late Friday.
The line of storms accompanied a cold front that passed through the state Friday. Storms sprung up along the front, extending as far north as Nebraska and Iowa.
The storms began in the afternoon and slowly headed east across Oklahoma. A few of the storms were severe in the early evening hours but weakened before they hit the Oklahoma City area.
The cooler air will bring highs in the 60s over the weekend, National Weather Service forecasters said.
