Storytelling event to benefit historic Oklahoma City church

“Tellabration,” a storytelling event, will be Nov. 23 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1401 NW 25.

The fundraiser is sponsored by the National Storytelling Network, the Oklahoma Territory Tellers and the Oklahoma Association of Storytellers/OKC Tellers Guild.

Lending their talents to the celebration of the oral tradition of storytelling will be Molly Lemmons, of Mustang, Kathryn Thurman, of Del City, and Salley Riffey, of Oklahoma City. Marilyn A. Hudson will be the event's emcee.

A special guided tour of the church's historic stained glass and architecture will be conducted from 5 to 6 p.m. The storytelling performances will begin at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the benefit event will be $10, with funds to go toward the preservation of the church's building that dates to 1928. The church was founded in 1910.
