Stranger abduction: Tulsa girl was among few who survive them, Amber Alert official says

Experts will tell you that when a child is abducted by a stranger, every second that passes makes it less likely that the case will have a positive outcome.

About 25,000 seconds — not quite seven hours — passed between the abduction of an 8-year-old Tulsa girl Sunday evening and the arrest of her alleged abductor, yet the girl was reunited with her family before the sun rose Monday.

Michael David Slatton was arrested in Sapulpa at 2:12 a.m. Monday, about 20 miles southwest of the abduction site.
