Student admits role in counterfeit scam
A onetime student at Cameron University in Lawton pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy, admitting he had been part of a scheme to distribute counterfeit rebate checks sent from Nigeria .
Hamzat O. Gafar now faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
