U.S. Attorney John C. Richter says 19-year-old Jason Ray Shandy of Tuttle entered the plea on Monday to a federal charge alleging that he called Edmond police in April with the false report.

According to the grand jury indictment, Shandy falsely told police that he overheard three Middle Eastern men talking at a 7-Eleven about blowing up the university.

Shandy faces a sentence of up to five years in prison, plus a $250,000 fine. He could be ordered to pay restitution to the university, Edmond police and the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office for expenses from their investigation.

His sentencing date has not yet been set.
