The first session, Drums in the Family, is a child and family musical experience. It is from 6 to 8 p.m. June 2-5 at Studio Mid-Del, 1500 Short St.

A djembe is a large goblet-shaped, skin-covered drum with a wide range of tones.

Different sounds are made by striking the skin of the drum with fingers or the hand.

The second drum class, Beat of the Summer, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. June 9-13.

The cost for each session is $50. To register, call Studio Mid-Del at 741-6666.
