FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A popular section of Fort Worth has a new look.

The opening ceremony for Sundance Square Plaza in downtown was held Friday morning. The plaza adds to the previous Sundance Square layout featuring restaurants and retail stores.

Backers describe the updated site as a European-style plaza featuring an events pavilion, space for seating and extensive landscaping.

Four massive umbrellas will help cover more than 6,400 feet of available space. Water jets are part of the arts-friendly complex.

To celebrate the opening, events are planned throughout the weekend, including musical acts and theatrical performances.
